Dr. Amy Horton grew up in California and attended the University of California, Santa Barbara for undergraduate school. She decided to follow in her father’s footsteps and become a Veterinarian.
She completed a Masters degree in Biology from San Francisco State while working as a technician at her father’s clinic, Berkeley Dog and Cat Hospital. She proudly attended University of California, Davis for veterinary school.
She graduated in 2005 and worked as a veterinarian at her father’s clinic for 13 years. Her husband moved the family to Virginia for several years and finally settled in the Fort Mill area where she joined Baxter Veterinary Clinic in 2026. She has special interests in canine rehabilitation, orthopedics, and feline medicine.
In her free time she enjoys hanging out with her cat Muffins, watching movies and eating at local restaurants with her husband and daughter.
